SAO RAFAEL
Sao Rafael beach is situated at the bottom
of the complex and is a five-minute walk through the pleasant and well-maintained
gardens. There is a beach bar and toilets, so is ideal for a lunchtime
snack or a romantic evening meal whilst you listen to the sounds of
the sea. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire.

The beach bar serves snacks
and meals and well as drinks and icecreams.

OTHER BEACHES
Leaving the complex by the main gate and turning immediately right,
follow this road on down to the sea; within ten minutes you will reach
another beautiful beach. Alternatively walk to the top of the road and
turn left follow this road and all the beaches are signposted off the
road. There are also coastal paths to follow which in turn will take
you to many beaches.
If you have a car then a visit to Albandeira, Benagil or Marinha is
a must. To reach these join the EN125 and head towards Portimao, after
passing through the edge of the town of Porches go through the traffic
lights at the “International School” turn immediately right,
go round the loop and drive back the way you came, take the first right
turning and follow the road until you see the signs for the respective
beach. Inside the apartment you will find guides and maps giving information
on all these beaches as well as others and other attractions in the
area.
Albandeira is a small two-part beach amid rocks at the end of a 3Km
road. From the parking area it’s a few steps down and a minor
clamber over rocks to reach the sand.
Marinha is reached via a car parking area atop the cliff, a long flight
of steps leads down to this long beach on a spectacular stretch of coastline,
afternoon shade at the far end. View the beach from above before claiming
your patch of sand.
Benagil is a sun trap backed by cliffs. You can walk on the sand, making
your way past beached fishing boats. The only parking is on the roadside
of a steep, hairpin bend.
You can visit the fisherman’s
beach at Albuferia. There are so many you could visit several every
day of your holiday and still not see them all but these are just a
few suggestions and some of our favorites.
